Mission
Top Spin International is a foundation focussed on  regional economic development through academic spin-off incubation, spin-off programmes and technology transfer. TSI works with international experts able to realise consultancy projects, (feasibility) studies and training/counselling on a contract basis.

Academic Spin-off Incubation and Spin-off programmes
The academic spin-off incubation process focusses on the creation of new businesses with University's technology, and relates to the following areas:

  • Student entrepreneurship: Awareness creation, business plan competition, student entrepreneurship centre, training in entrepreneurial skills.
  • Academic spin-offs: Institutional spin-off policy, spin-off programme development, auditing, awareness creation, facility provision, feasibility studies, mentoring, seed capital, licensing.
  • Incubators: Feasibility study, business planning, facility management, councelling & consultancy, information desk, training.
  • Science & Technology parks: Feasibility study, business planning, networking and clustering of companies, international business cooperation, training of entrepreneurs, venture capital.

Technology Transfer
The technology transfer process focusses on the validation of knowledge created within Universities, and relates to the following areas:

  • Academic Expertise Centres: Awareness creation, development of business plans and/or subsidy proposals.
  • Commercialisation of Research: Awareness creation (realising the value of research), organising contract research, developping business plans.
  • Commercialisation of results from research: Dissemination of knowledge, and patenting & licensing.
  • Creating intermediaries: Industrial liaison units, technology brookerage, associations of knowledge intensive companies.
